(Junior) Accountant General Ledger (m/f/d)

Your area of responsibilities:

 

  • Perform general ledger accounting, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial transactions
  • Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Post journal entries and maintain the chart of accounts as needed
  • Play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes for financials
  • Assist in the preparation of needed financial information & reporting packages for the group consolidated statements
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to streamline group accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain strong internal controls
  • Participate in special projects related to financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and process enhancements as assigned by management
  • Ideally assist in the gathering of financial data for group consolidation and support within the consolidation process of the EMEA subgroup or
  • Ideally assist in specific Digital-to-Customer Retail Accounting (Webshops and Flagship Stores) via maintaining and reconciling accounts for the D2C and retail business segments

 

Your profile of qualification:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a focus/exposure to group accounting or on retail and D2C operations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS, German GAAP/HGB)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus
  • Fluent in German and English is a must
