Business Manager to COO (m/f/d)

Your seat to fill:

 

  • Act as a trusted business partner and support to the COO, translating strategic priorities into structured work plans, decisions, and follow-up actions
  • Prepare and maintain management reports, KPI dashboards and performance analyses; identify trends, deviations, root causes, and actionable insights
  • Support business planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario assessments and performance tracking in close cooperation with Finance and relevant functions
  • Prepare concise executive presentations, decision papers, briefings and business cases for senior leadership and other management forums
  • Establish and maintain governance for strategic COO initiatives, including milestones, risks, dependencies, responsibilities and decision points
  • Independently coordinate selected strategic and cross-functional projects, manage stakeholders, track deliverables and proactively escalate risks or delays
  • Plan and prepare leadership meetings, document decisions, maintain action logs and ensure disciplined follow-through on commitments
  • Consolidate information across functions, create transparency and facilitate alignment on priorities, trade-offs and required decisions
  • Provide executive and occasional personal assistance to the COO as required, including selected calendar, travel, meeting and administrative coordination (approximately 20% of the role)

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven professional experience in business management, Chief of Staff, corporate strategy, management consulting, PMO, business analytics or a comparable role supporting senior leadership
  • Analytical and numerical skills, strong business acumen, and a structured, hypothesis-driven approach to problem-solving
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and AI skills and proven ability to work confidently with complex data; hands-on Power BI capability is strongly preferred, with SQL, data modelling or workflow automation as an advantage
  • PowerPoint and executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into concise, decision-ready management materials
  • Project management and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional execution without formal authority
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and sensitive topics simultaneously
  • High degree of integrity, trustworthiness, discretion and sound judgement when working with confidential business, organizational and personal information
  • Proactive ownership mindset, resilience and the ability to anticipate needs, work independently and challenge constructively when required
  • Excellent written and verbal English; German is a strong advantage. Confidence using Microsoft 365 and AI-enabled productivity tools
