Your seat to fill:

 

  • Lead the development and sourcing of fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other material components for apparel collections, ensuring alignment with product vision, functionality, quality, and cost objectives
  • Partner closely with Design and Product Development to identify and develop materials that support product concepts, performance requirements, and overall product strategy
  • Manage seasonal material libraries and PLM documentation, ensuring accurate specifications, material approvals, and readiness in line with product creation milestones
  • Ensure all fabrics, trims, and material components meet required performance, quality, testing, compliance, and regulatory standards
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with mills, fabric and trim suppliers, and innovation partners, including negotiation of costs, lead times, MOQs, and development commitments
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality performance, and sustainability initiatives while driving supplier optimization and sourcing efficiency
  • Manage material development timelines and critical paths across multiple product categories, ensuring timely delivery of development samples, lab dips, strike-offs, and testing submissions
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to material availability, supplier capacity, quality, lead times, and other critical development dependencies
  • Support margin targets through material costing, value engineering, and strategic material selection while maintaining product integrity and design intent
  • Drive sustainable material initiatives by identifying and implementing recycled, certified, organic, and lower-impact alternatives in line with company sustainability goals
  • Act as a material expert and key stakeholder across Design, Product Development, Quality, Product Management, and Operations, supporting seasonal kick-offs, range reviews, and product milestone meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement across material development and sourcing processes while ensuring material specifications, approvals, and documentation are completed in time for Go-to-Market readiness

 

Your stroll to CYBEX:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Management, Material Science, Product Development, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in fabric, material, trim development, sourcing, or product development within the fashion, sportswear, or lifestyle industry
  • Strong knowledge of textile construction, fibers, yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, washing, and finishing processes
  • Experience managing fabric mills, trim suppliers, and global sourcing partners
  • Understanding product creation calendars, critical path management, and apparel manufacturing processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with PLM, ERP, and material management systems
  • Knowledge of textile testing standards, product compliance, and sustainability certifications
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills are preferred
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
