Head of Softgood Engineering (m/f/d)

Your areas of responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and track the development schedule of prototypes and samples according to the product development schedule, delivering samples on time
  • Manage accurate and timely the data documentation in our systems – Tech pack, BOT,  CAD Patterns, Comments, etc
  • Partner with the Design Teams to understand the overall aesthetic, fit and function, as well as the design details and translate this to samples
  • Develop products by recommending constructions, advise on proper workmanship for each style. Provide solutions related to cost targets
  • Lead sample reviews sessions and feed comments back to our factories
  • Collaborate across the development and design departments on product or testing related issues and project alignments
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships and good communication with our production partners and key internal departments Design, PJM, PM, Quality Control and the engineering teams in Asia
  • Travel regularly to manufacturers and suppliers in Asia to support the development and the production start

 

Your profile of qualification:

 

  • Ideally a Degree in Textile/Apparel Development or similar
  • 5+ years of development experience in functional products
  • Good understanding of the cost factors (and a BOT) of a product, ability to develop to cost
  • Sound knowledge of garment construction,CAD guided pattern development, costing, fabric and manufacturing processes
  • Passionate person who is both independent and a good team-player
  • Good communication skills and ability to establish good relationships with other key departments and our production partners
  • Fluent in English, German is a plus 
  • Affinity for lifestyle and design
  • Willingness to travel
