Area of responsibilities:

You will be the central point of contact for operational customs queries, providing support to business partners (e.g. sales, tax) and advising teams and projects to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and internal guidelines.
Ensuring proper documentation in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. HMRC) and internal company procedures.
Establishing and maintaining effective processe and monitoring of regulatory approvals to ensure accurate and timely HMRC returns.
Conducting compliance reviews of systems such as UKIMS to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Analyse and evaluate MSS data as part of risk assessment and review of the application of customs procedures.
Advise and support on Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) including liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare and support internal and external audits on customs-related topics
Create efficient import clearance instructions for freight forwarders to enable timely customs clearance and delivery
Monitoring C88 documents to ensure correct imports and to request necessary changes
Creation of internal reports and compliance with documentation requirements in accordance with HMRC regulations
Training and support of service providers to ensure compliance with processes and work instructions
Knowledge of trade compliance in general and in detail (UK CBAM other trade compliance topics)

Profile of qualification:

In-depth experience in UK customs with detailed knowledge of import and export regulations.
Expertise in customs valuation, classification and origin of goods.
Good IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office applications (Power BI, Power Automate)
Experience with SAP ERP systems (S4/HANA)
Degree or equivalent qualification in economics, commerce, customs or similar subject, ideally complemented by practical experience in a customs authority such as HMRC.
Experience with AEB (customs software) is desirable
Ideally 3-5 years' professional experience in the relevant field.
